- Description (Summary)
- In this study we want to find out more about using cells known as Natural Killer (NK) cells which are created using peripheral blood from the donor who is providing your stem cell infusion for treatment of AML. We want to find out whether the NK cells will reduce the possibility of relapse (comes back) of your AML and whether the cells cause any problems (side effects). Everyone in this study will receive a hematopoietic stem cell transplant, which is considered standard of care, and not part of this research, and everyone will receive the NK cells which are still experimental and are not yet approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. We are testing NK cells to see what effect it has on people who are having HCT. We don't know if this study will help you. Your condition may get better but it could stay the same or even get worse. We hope the information from this study will help us develop a better treatment for patients with AML receiving a HCT in the future.
